The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be playing at the special olympics being held at Riverside Park in Manhattan at 145th and Riverside Drive. It is always a privilege for the band to be able to play at this event to honor these fabulous athletes.

The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be playing at city hall to honor the bravery of our brothers who will be receiving medal for their acts of heroism. We will be playing at the coalitions through out the day as well.

The Grade IV competition band will be competing at these games. This is our first outing of the 2008 competition season and we are looking to keep up our winning streak. The band was successful in last years games and we have a roster that promises to keep that going. See you there!!

The FDNY Pipe Band will be playing at the "Rock" on family day for the Probationary Firefighters. This is a day when the Probies get to show off their new skills to their family members.
The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be playing at the blessing of the FDNY Marine Fleet at Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport. All the FDNY's boats sail by at the chaplains bless them for another safe year on the waterways of NYC and the Atlantic Ocean. It is a nice show to view.

Friday July 25 th, 2008 - 1904 Surf Ave, Brooklyn (Coney Island)
- The night includes: FD Safety House, FD children on the field, Fireboat water display, etc.
- Bagpipers will play at The Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance and Tribute Walk (adjacent to the Stadium parking lot) at 6:00 pm
- Pre-game ceremony at 6:30 pm
- Ceremonial first pitch by Chief of Operations, Pat McNally
- National Anthem sung by F.F. Regina Wilson Engine 219
- Brooklyn Cyclones vs. Staten Island Yankees at 7 pm
- Post-game fireworks display
- Post-game Party in Peggy O’Neills (located in front of Stadium)
FDNY Children on the field for The National Anthem:
- Children should be between the ages 6-12
- Children should wear FD apparel or little league uniform
- Everyone participating must be on the concourse level between Sections 22 and 24 at 6:30 sharp!
- A Cyclone staff member will lead the children onto the field
- A few adults will be allowed to chaperone on the field
- The children will stand next to the players, at their field positions, during The National Anthem
- Once The Anthem is completed the children will re-enter the stands in Section 20
Tickets are $15 each for grandstand and $10 each for bleacher. Proceeds will go to the UFA Scholarship Fund. Fire Marshal Bob Cashman is the event organizer.

It is with regret that the FDNY Pipes and Drums announces the death of Active Fireman Martin Simmons of Ladder 111 in Brooklyn. Martin passed away while saving his son from Drowning in Lake Tahoe, NV. He was a 17 year veteran on the FDNY and will be sadly missed by his Brothers in Engine 214 and Ladder 111. The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be performing at the dedication of the 30th Anniversary of the Waldbaums Fire, that occured in Brooklyn in 1978. The ceremony will take place at the quarters of Engine 276 and Ladder 156 on 14th street in Brooklyn.

The FDNY Pipes and Drums are proud to announce the following event. Tom was a member of the FDNY Pipes and Drums who passed away last November after a long battle with Luekemia. His Father Tom Sr is still an active member of the band. Please consider playing in this event to help support the Tom McTigue Foundation, a 501 c 3 non-profit public benefit corporation.

The FDNY Pipe Band will be leading the Labor Day Parade this year up 5th Avenue. The parade kicks off at 10am and starts at 5th Avenue and 44th Street. For more info click here.

The FDNY Pipe Band will be playing at the Christening of two Tugboats at the South Street Sea Port.
The FDNY Pipe Band will be playing at the WTC memorial wall on the side of Engine 10 and Ladder 10 at exactly 7:11 pm which is Sunset. This will be a short and powerful ceremony and a perfect way to honor and remember the sacrifices of 9-11. We will honor the members of our Band who were lost on this tragic day as well they are Bronko Pearsall and Father Judge.
The FDNY Pipes and Drums will be holding its 3rd Annual Pitch and Putt at Riis Park in Rockaway, Queens.

Bronk was a member of FDNY Rescue 4,Sqaud 1 & Ladder 146. He along with 342 other FDNY members made the supreme sacrifice on 9/11/01 at The World Trade Center. He was a 9 year member of the FDNY Football Team, the FDNY Emerald Society Pipe & Drums. He was also a member of the Hempstead Fire Department, Hempstead Flukes Drill Team and alumnus of the CW Post College Football Team.
